Architecture

The Lotus Temple, designed by Iranian architect Fariborz Sahba, was consecrated in December 1986

Beautiful garden

The lotus temple is a big white marble building. It's more than 130 feet tall and sits on a high platform surrounded by beautiful gardens and pools. The paths around the pools are made of red sandstone.

mystical number 9

The Lotus Temple, like many others, is designed with nine sides. This design reflects the Bahāʾī faith's deep respect for the number nine(9).
